yeah, things have changed, and are still changing…

osborneMore and more computers are being seen primarily as mobile devices (except for gamers and those with old hardware). Connectivity using laptops, along with other mobile devices is slowly edging towards the norm for all students (and post students). Smart Phones are growing on the public consciousness as a thing worth having, and the iPad is a social phenomenon. Everybody is using mobile computing devices.

It seems to me that these may be the underpinnings of yet another paradigm change. First, computers, and later the personal computer changed how we worked, produced things, and played at home. Then the internet came upon us. Now there were innumerable things to look at, buy, and to present for professionals, students, and almost every sector of society.

Now we have yet another sea change coming upon us, everything we had before is now doable, buyable, and consumable wherever you are. I am not suggesting that this came upon us in January 2012, but rather that this has been happening to us or several years, but most of us do not really notice it.

Maybe there have been so many changes in our culture in the last 25 years that many to most of us take these sorts of changes for granted…
