I see ‘college apps’ as a subset of what the rest of us use. It used to be that there were lists like this online (or even, back in the day, in some tech magazines…) which covered which office suite to get….and that was about it. As the use of computers gets more and more deeply embedded into our lived, the ways we use them becomes comparably complex and sophisticated. As a consequence, this latest list consists of some rather specific tools (math add ins for MS Word, tools to connect windows 7 PC’s, and even reminders to keep from forgetting your thumbdrive…).
