Near the top of some of my gripes about the Apple iPad is the fact that the photo viewer is of such low quality and lacks so many features that it is mostly unusable (it is mostly a good place to put photos to make a screen saver for the iPad…little else).Even if you have a Mac, your options regarding getting photos into the iPad are solely based upon using iTunes (i.e. during syncing…). PC users have about the same dearth of basic features and access seeming afterthought of an app…
Considering that this was one of the prime selling features presented in the first iPad ads, I find this strange. Comparably weird, but understandable is the notion that Steve Jobs, in his ongoing spat with Google has decided that there will never be a native Picasa photo viewer app.

With this information in hand, there are some apps out there which will allow you to access your Picasa web albums, and the one I use is the Web Albums for iPad app. I have been using this app on both of my iOS devices (iPhone and iPad) without any hitches. I can (within WiFi’ s reach) access all my web albums, upload photos, and create albums…that is, all of the things I need to do with my Picasa web album.
The end result to this is that I backup all of my iPhone photos onto my NetBook (every time I sync); I also upload the majority of these photos into my Picasa web album directly from the iPhone. All of these shots end up in my NetBook Picasa 3 app (one way or another). The biggest change in how I deal with photos is that the majority of my editing and processing apps lie on either my iPhone or my iPad…I rarely do any photo editing on a PC anymore!
I also see that I haven’t done anything with my Flickr account in several years, in that I have found that the Picasa app, and associated (all free) online space (i.e. web albums) to be so much more convenient to use.
