7. Lessons in Education: Shocking Education Statistics
I see infographics more and more on education related sites…to the degree that I suspect that this is a sort of trickledown effect from various classroom assignments. The link I have provided at the top of this post contains a number of them. With the exception of the graphic I have here (which contains some dark, big picture assessments of what our current system is dealing with), the vast majority are filled with such wonders as how valuable it is to have social networking sites (i.e. vapid, nut innocuous stuff…).
In any case, this graphic does show (in ways I might not have been able to present) some of the problems which are of serious importance. For instance, if we take some of these statistics at face value, one could see that the burgeoning technical job market of 2020 might be filled by students from other countries, and that the seeming ineffectiveness of our education industry may be dealing us with some tough cards…
