If you have an iPad, you might have gotten it because you are interested in eBook. The Calibre program (for Windows, OSx, Linux…) can be an incredibly worthwhile tool to use to: keep track of, and maintain our eBook library, to upgrade or cleanup some of your eBooks with tags, better cover art, summaries, ratings, etc. This free program has a lot of value in it.
The Calibre program is the only tool you may need if you are interested in translating some eBooks to different formats, or to render a PDF file into any of the eBook formats. This program supports literally every reader out there (along with related eBook formats). In my case, I had a lot of PDF files which I rendered into EPUB formats to allow me to use Apples iBook app on both my iPhone and iPad.
Rendering a PDF file also allows me to add in appropriate cover art, to collate books as parts of series (in order!), and to clean up parts of mis-rendered text (in the original). I suppose I could spend more time covering how to use this app, but to be honest, it is pretty straight forward to use.
