There are still a few things you can add to, or do with your blog. The average reader checks out more than just posts on a blog, you can add some widgets which add to your blog’s functionality. There are also a few housekeeping actions to consider.

Pictures, Videos, Maps & Plug-ins – Windows Live Writer:
This is the official gallery of plug-ins for Windows Live Writer, but if you do an online search, you can likely find more. There are plug-ins which allow you to add in Flickr photos, Tweet Meme, and you can set up a plug-in to automatically tweet your latest entry when you post to your blog.
As a final additions, at least or those middle aged guys who have been impelled to join Facebook…you can add your blog to Facebook (all you need is the URL, and some log in information). This will feed your blog posts to your Facebook site (and thereby minimize your need to deal with some of the other aspects of this site…).
There are lots of other things you can do with a WordPress.com blog, and as such, there are plenty of easy to find online resources to help you. If you embark upon creating one of these blogs, you will see that it is at least as easy as Facebook to run (on a daily basis).
