a little light cleaning…

I should mention that this is a bit of a (very small) anniversary, in that I have one month under my belt here at this blog. As such there are some new additions that I want to make this week. First off, I want to include a page of teacher’s classroom tools (the page will be called ‘classroom tools’). This is a page which will certainly grow over time, but to start it off I only have to entries to add. These first entries are things that I have found on the internet and are free (provenance free, which means that you can ‘legally’ use them).

The first entry is an Excel spreadsheet macro which will create seating charts for your classes. I saw this on the ‘clever sheep’ blog (this is one of the education blogs I read on a very regular basis). The owner of the blog, Rod Lucier posted this Excel macro made by a friend and fellow teacher of his, Jim Pedrich (BTW he gave it a creative commons license to use with attribution…). This is a easy to use (pretty slick!) seating chart designer that can account for almost any arrangement of seats and/or desks in a classroom.

Secondly, I found a site which allows toy to create a classroom diagram (as an online application), it’s free, and once again, very easy to use.

I also will be adding a page of the growing amount of link lists I have appended to posts using the linkli.st.com site (a great, easy to use site!). Obviously, this is a page which will grow in time too. This page will have the quite obvious name of link lists…

I am also in the beginning phase of creating a page that will provide links and some coverage of all of the tools I use on my computers, whether online or resident on the PC’s.
